So, that the photos that you are presented with show emotion, feeling and capture the essence of that very moment in time. Let me help tell your story.

I heart faces photo challenge, Raise your hands

This week at I heart faces the photo challenge is all about hands.  The photo I am entering this week is of my oldest daughter, Addie.

I planned this weekend (Sept 10, 2011).  Family and friends were invited to the park close to our home.  We grilled hamburgers, talked and laughed, and let the kids play on the playground.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the time spent watching the kids play on the playground and talking with the adults, but I could not WAIT for the sun to start it's decent.  About an hour before sunset, I asked if anyone would mind it I took the kids to the swimming area to play on the "beach".  Of course the kids were thrilled!

They played while I began to capture as many memories I could of one of our last outings of the summer.  Shoes were kicked off, sandcastles were made, seashells were searched for, clothes got wet, and I was rewarded with some AMAZING photos.

So, for this week's entry I chose this photo.
Sweet, precious hands of my girl.  Dirty from digging in the sand, proudly holding her found treasure.

People's Choice

This week's I Heart Faces theme is "Best Face Photo from Summer 2011".  It seems like I took a million pictures this summer.  Summer vacation, time spent at Granny and Grandpa's house, 4th of July, etc, etc...but the one FACE photo that I remembered right off the bat was of my little Zoey.

Here, school starts August 15, so we have to start school while we are still enjoying our summer.  This photo was taken the morning of her third day of preschool.  This morning she was making up silly songs about her 3rd day of school.  I love the look of sheer HAPPINESS on her face.  I love that she still wears that smile to school *almost* every morning.

May this feeling of happiness stay forever in her heart.

A Touch of Sun...

Wow!  Summer kept us busy.  The last I heart faces challenge I entered was in June!

When I read this week's challenge, one image from a couple of weekends ago immediately came to mind.  Little Zoey building a sand bithday cake.  On the "beach" at Lake Dardanelle just a few miles away from home.  To me, it is a perfect picture of childhood, just enjoying life.  No worries.  The sun shining on her face as she creates the perfect sand cake.

Happy Monday!

From a Distance...

This week at I Heart Faces the challenge is From A Distance.    As a Mother of 3 girls, most times I find it hard to stay at a distance.  I like to have my girls by my side, to keep an eye on them or to be right there if they need help.  This happened to be something that didn't allow me to be up close and personal.  To me, the fence in the picture represents that my girls are growing and that they will have to do some things on their own.  I'm not always going to be be able to be inside the fence.

Please remember to head on over to www.iheartfaces.com and check out all of the other From a Distance entries!

I Heart Faces Challege *Yellow*

This week at I heart faces the challenge is yellow.  I know, I know.  Everybody loves yellow but me.  I remember in grade school one of my friends favorite color was yellow.  I really didn't understand the obsession.  Although, yellow will NEVER be my favorite color, (it's right up there with red for me)
I have come to appreciate it.  So, here is my entry for this week's yellow challenge.

Best Face photo in January

This week at I Heart Faces, They are asking for the Best Face Photo in January.  What a hard task!  Deciding which face I captured happened to be the best!  I have three BEAUTIFUL daughters and a this Mother could NEVER say that one of my children is prettier than another.  Each one of my girls the Lord has so graciously blessed me with is beautiful in their own way.  I finally decided on this picture of Lily.

I chose this picture because you very rarely can capture a picture of Lily with a real smile. Usually,The second the camera comes out, Lily goes into silly face mode.
This day was different.  She cooperated with me enough to capture a few really good pictures of her.  Though, I fell in LOVE with this one.  Those big hazel eyes smiling at me!  I just can't help but smile every time I see this picture.
Don't forget to make your way over to http://www.iheartfaces.com/ and see some of the other faces of January.

Innocent wonder

Saturday afternoon our family loaded up to take an adventure.  This adventure began at our local visitor center at the State park not far from our house.  Although we have visited there many times before, our children always enjoy wandering around and learning.  This picture of my oldest daughter was snapped as she watched the geese taking off and landing on the lake.  I can only imagine what was going through her brilliant little mind, that works so fast...

Please take a few moments to head on over to http://www.iheartfaces.com/ to look around at some of the other great entries!
