About Me

My photo
Heber Springs, AR
I believe that everyone has a story. I believe that pictures, aren't just pictures. They are tiny glimpses into a person's story. Behind my lens, I strive to make a connection. So, that the photos that you are presented with show emotion, feeling and capture the essence of that very moment in time. Let me help tell your story.

Pink week

This week at I heart faces it's pink week in honor of breast cancer awareness month.  Fortunately, I personally have not been touched by this disease but have known those who have, and what it can do.  Please take the time to  head on over to http://www.iheartfaces.com/ and check out the other awesome entries for this week.

This week's photo challenge is PINK!  I'm in love with this picture.

So, I was thinking, turn this picture pink, for PINK week.  Here is my pink version.  What do ya think?

I think I like this.  This just may be the one I enter. There is still time to  challenge myself this afternoon after the kids get home from school to see if I can come up with a pink picture I like better.  Here's hoping I have some cooperative children this afternoon.

I heart faces entry

This week's photo challenge at I heart faces.  In the orchard.  I tried really hard to get the oldest daughter to cooperate with me.  That didn't work out so well.  I did manage to snag this pic of the youngest TOTALLY enjoying her apple!

Is my work good enough?  That's the question I keep asking myself over and over.  The answer, I'm not sure, still.  What I do know is that I have challenged myself to learn, and practice as much as I can.  Right now, I'm not looking to change my career.  I love my job.  What I am looking to do is turn my passion for photography into something that others can benefit from.  Take time and make it stop for an instant.  For me, a picture isn't just a piece of paper with ink on it.  A picture is a way of stopping time.  A way to keep a memory.  A way to document exactly what was going on in that instant.
I have hesitated for some time to create a watermark that included the word "photgraphy" on it.  I feared criticism from others.  So, today I bite the bullet and face my fears. Here is what I have come up with...
Here is one of my favorite moments stopped in time.  My Dad, out of the hospital, LIVING!  My Mom so happy to have him back!

Yesterday I was granted the priveledge of taking 10 pictures of my oldest daughter.  She told me she was counting so I better be able to get a good picture for Granny out of the ten pictures she was going to let me take.
I did manage to get a couple of usuable pictures.  This happened to be my favorite of the afternoon.  Just look at those eyes! GORGEOUS!

I also managed to squeeze in a few of the other girls.

Wow!  Am I blessed or what?  Three gorgeous girls.

TA DA!

Well, Here it is.  The first blog post.  I'm here recovering from having all four wisdom teeth removed Friday afternoon.  All in all, I feel alright.  I'm sure I will feel a LOT better when I actually get to eat something.  I'm feeling pretty hungry right now.  I think I will go see if  I can find a snack...
This was one of my favorites from the top of Mt. Nebo.  Overlooking a beautiful day!
